Our Vision

A society where deaf people have equal access, rights and citizenship.

deafscotland is a member organisation, with membership coming from all across Scotland.

Members get together at our Conference, Events and National Council meetings, which take place throughout the year.

Our members are professional organisations, local authorities, local and national deaf organisations. Each member organisation sends one representative to the National Council.

Membership is also open to individuals, please see our membership pages for further details.

From the Full membership, we elect the eleven-strong Board, which oversees all of our work.

Our Board

Eleven deafscotland members make up the Board, all of whom are elected at our Annual General Meeting (AGM).

All are people active in the field of deafness.

The Board elects our Convenor, Vice-Convenor, and any other Office Bearers. The Office Bearers have particular responsibilities to ensure that deafscotland runs well and complies with regulatory requirements.
